The Arts at Ascension: A Story of Community, Collaboration, and Song
The Arts at Ascension is a vibrant community arts partnership dedicated to presenting exceptional choral and orchestral music in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Formed in 2021 by the Arizona Masterworks Chorale, Women’s Orchestra of Arizona, and Ascension Lutheran Church, the partnership is both practical and aspirational. Practical, the members recognized that by pooling talent and creative energy, we could bring larger and more meaningful musical experiences to audiences. Aspirational, because the partners believed that great music should not be confined to concert halls or limited to ticketed performances. Instead, it should be something that brings people together—regardless of musical background—and strengthens community bonds through shared artistic expression.
Since its founding, the partnership has committed itself to offering events that invite participation as much as appreciation. Through programs like the annual Messiah Sing-Along, we honor the longstanding tradition of community music-making while fostering new experiences rooted in hospitality, collaboration, and joy.
We believe that music has the power to transcend barriers and create spaces where people feel connected, inspired, and uplifted. Each concert, each rehearsal, and each shared breath of song continues the story of this partnership—one built not only on artistry, but on generosity and community spirit.
As we look to the future, The Arts at Ascension remains committed to enriching the cultural life of the Valley through performances that celebrate both musical excellence and the collective voice of our community.
